Originally from suburban Detroit, I left when I was 21 and headed to Chicago, where I completed my BFA at DePaul University and built a foundation for my career working at a leading investor relations firm. Left in late 2000 for northern Michigan to spend more time with family where I started my own company. It took me 10 long winters in Traverse City, MI to realize that Chicago is really where I want to be... so summer of 2010 we downsized our housing, sold the car and packed up the big yellow truck.
